All 2011 National Sport Qualifiying Events will follow
the 2011 National Games Rules

Eligibility
Qualifying is required to enter certain events. Anyone canqualify by participating in a regional Texas Senior Game. Non-Texas residents may qualify in their home state. See the TSGA web site: www.tsga.org for details of the qualifying rules. For those events where qualifying is not required anyone age 50 or above as of December 31, 2010 may enter.

Registration Fees
$40 entry fee if registration is postmarked by August 31, 2010. $42 entry fee if registration is postmarked between September 1 - September 30, 2010 $45 entry fee will be assessed if registration is postmarked between October 1 - October 8, 2010 REGISTRATION CLOSES ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 8 , 2010. To register online please go to www.texasstategames.com or www.tsga.org and click on Online Registration. Mailed in paper registrations will be changed an additional $15. Online registration will begin in July and close on October 8, 2010.

Registration Deadline
All entries must be postmarked by October 8, 2010. There will be no on-site registration.

Age Categories
Participants will compete in one of the following age categories for both individual and/or doubles sports: 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95-99. Team sports are divided into the following brackets: 50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+, 75+, and 80+. Your age group is determined by your age on December 31, 2010. Partner and team age groups will be determined by the age of the youngest partner/team member. The Fencing competition will be based on “Veteran Tournament” format using USFA age groups. For both national competitive and recreational events, the age categories may be combined for competition. Medals will be awarded by age divisions.

Proof of Age
All athletes may be required to show proof of age during the State Games. Any athlete unable to provide proof of age will be disqualified. Any team with a rostered individual who is not of minimum age or whose age as listed on the roster is incorrect and causes the team to play in the wrong age division will be disqualified.

 Rules - Decisions
All events will be conducted in accordance with both the Texas Senior Games Association Official Rules (TSGA) and the 2011 National Senior Games Association (NSGA) Official Rules. The Game Director is the final authority for rules and interpretations.

Confirmation of Entry
For registrations received in the State Games office, a confirmation letter will either be emailed to you or mailed if no email is listed. PLEASE DO NOT mail in your registration if you have registered online. If you have not received your confirmation by October 15, 2010, please call 713-729-3200, ext. 3290. Office hours are 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. On-line registrants will receive an email sent to the email of record verifying that the registration has been accepted. On-line registrants have the option of printing a confirmation letter which lists the events after the registration process is completed.

Equipment
Participants must provide their own equipment except for Basketball, Throwing Events, Billiards, Discus, Hammer, Shot Put and Javelin. Pole Vaulters must provide their own equipment that meets official standards. Inclement Weather/Unusual Circumstances Game officials reserve the right to cancel, reschedule, or postpone events due to bad weather or unusual circumstances. Updates will be posted on website. How Many Sports and/or Events Can I Enter? As long as the sports and/or events are not held at conflicting times or have specific restrictions, participants may enter as many sports and/or events as desired. The exceptions are swimming and track and field which have some restrictions. You MUST be a member of a team to enter the team sports.

Doubles Events
Participants must have a partner to enter doubles events. Partners’ forms must be submitted together. You may compete with only one partner per event. Doubles teams with one Texas resident and one out-of-state resident will be considered an out-of-state team. When registering on-line you must spell your partner's name correctly and enter your partner's year of birth (no month, no day, just the year) If this is not done correctly the system will not match you with your partner.

Team Sports
Team Captains are responsible for submitting the team roster, team fee and the individual members’ registration information forms together.  Teams must submit the completed information to the team captain, who in turn submits the team roster, enclosing all completed forms and fees. Team rosters must be completed in order for the team to compete. 3 on 3 Basketball teams have a limit of 10 team members. Softball teams have a limit of 20 members, and volleyball teams have a limit of 15 members. Teams with at least 51% of their members not residing in the State of Texas will be considered an out-of-state team for qualifying purposes. Teams must comply with the TSGA rules for maximum number of out-of-state players.

Fees
ENTRY FEES and EVENT FEES must be paid in full and must accompany the entry form. Forms received without the appropriate fees WILL NOT be processed. It is the responsibility of the team captain to send in team fees, roster and all team members’ information together. The Team Sport fee applies to those participating in 3 on 3 Basketball, Softball and Volleyball. Team members registering ONLY for a team event do not pay an additional registration fee or event fee. Team members who will be participating in ANY additional event(s) including Around the World and Free Throw events, must also pay the full registration fee ($40, $42, $45) plus any event entry fees for each additional event.

Refunds
Refunds (less a $15 administrative fee) must be requested at least 14 days prior to the start of the games and will only be issued with a written medical reason by a medical professional.

Athlete Check-In
 Will be held at the Jewish Community Center beginning on: Thursday, October 21, 2010, 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM. All participants must check in at the Check-in headquarters prior to their first event except for Golf, Track & Field, Fencing, Cycling, Archery, Road Races, Triathlon and 2 Mile Walk. Check-in from October 21 - October 31 at the Jewish Community Center of Houston. Those individuals participating in golf may check-in at the golf course before the start of play. Track & Field, Fencing, Cycling, Archery, Road Races and 2 Mile Walk can check in at the venue. Participants at these venues will get their t-shirts at the venue. Triathlon packet pickup is at Finish Line Sports October 13-16.
